BACKGROUND
Livable San Diego* started as a group of residents concerned with the quality of life in the neighborhoods of central San Diego. It grew to encompass other San Diego neighborhoods and communities facing the same challenges. From San Pasqual to San Ysidro, residents, and businesses seek safe neighborhoods with decent housing and needed public facilities.
MISSION
We seek to maintain neighborhoods as good places to live and work. This requires respect from City officials for the residents and for community character. It requires public participation in the planning of communities that they can be proud of.
WHY NOW?
San Diego neighborhoods are in trouble. Our city planners have unnecessarily targeted huge areas of residential neighborhoods for high-density development with no reasonable height limits. This is irresponsible planning without regard on the effect of its citizens or needed public facilities.
*Livable San Diego and Livable California are separate entities and are not affiliated. Livable San Diego is a local (San Diego only) organization.
